Delica – Inability to shift into first or second gear

Replace select cable with countermeasure

Description of defect

On 4-wheel drive vehicles with manual transmission, some select cables are bent due to interference with the radiator bracket caused by improperly positioned protectors on the select cables. If the cables continue to be used as they are, repeated shifting may cause the inner cable to break, resulting in loss of shifting to 1stor 2nd gear. Shifting to 3rd, 4th, 5th gear and backward is still possible.

Improvement details

Inspect the gap between the select cable and the radiator bracket and replace the select cable with a countermeasure if there is no gap.
