Description of Defect
Fit – Door glass cannot be raised or lowered
Due to an improper switch unit structure for the driver’s side power window switch, if the switch is repeatedly operated with silicon components from in-car cleaning products adhering to the switch contacts, contact wear particles may accumulate in the gap between the switch’s power supply and grounding parts, generating heat, causing the resin material of the switch unit to carbonise.
This can cause the resin material of the switch unit to carbonise and leak current. As a result, the resin material of the switch unit may melt, causing the circuit to short-circuit and the fuse to blow, or the switch contacts may become misaligned, preventing the circuit from opening and closing, thus preventing the door glass from being raised or lowered.
Improvement Details
Replace the driver’s side power window switch with a countermeasure.
