Description of Defect
Fit – Engine warning light on, Slight vibration of the vehicle body
Due to the inappropriate material of the dustproof and waterproof o-ring assembled to the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve, silicon oxide may accumulate on the surface of the sensor contact of the valve, causing the detection signal of the sensor to be disturbed. As a result, exhaust gas exceeding the lift indication of the EGR valve may be recirculated, causing slight vehicle vibration at low speeds, and in the worst case, the engine warning light may come on, the fail-safe function may be activated and the EGR valve may stop working.
Improvement Details
Check the EGR valve markings and replace with a countermeasure if applicable.
