Fit – SRS warning light on
In the front passenger occupant posture detection system (OPDS), there is an incorrect part in the control circuit and connector, which may cause the diagnostic circuit to misinterpret a system failure. As a result, the SRS warning light in the meter illuminates, the OPDS function is deactivated and the front passenger side airbag may be controlled to deploy.
However, the airbag does not suddenly deploy except in the event of a side collision.
Improvement Details
Only those vehicles in which the SRS warning light illuminates will be checked using a diagnostic monitor and, if applicable, the OPDS unit and front passenger seat backrest pad will be replaced with a set of countermeasure items.
