Honda CVT Judder Troubleshooting Guide

Honda Mobilio (GB1) and Fit (GD1) models may experience body vibration when starting the vehicle. This issue is commonly caused by the deterioration of transmission oil and wear of the clutch disc.

  1. Press the brake firmly and fully open the accelerator pedal in D range for 3 seconds.
  2. Rotate for about 20 seconds at 3000 rpm in N range.

  6. Rotate for about 20 seconds at 3000 rpm in N range.

2. Drain and Replace CVT Oil

  1. Drain the CVT oil and transmission oil until oil stops dripping.
  2. There is sludge on the drain bolt, so remove it completely.
  3. Replace with new HMMF.
  4. Hold the shift lever for at least 3 seconds in each range in order to circulate oil through all ranges.
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 6 again.
  6. Let the CVT completely cool down.
  7. Start the engine and warm it up.
  8. To facilitate the re-learning of the start clutch operation:
    – Drive the vehicle on a flat, level road (not on an incline) without any load.
    – Accelerate to a speed of 60 km/h.
    – Release the accelerator completely for more than 5 seconds.
    – Repeat this process approximately 5 times.
  9. Check the oil level again with the oil level gauge on a flat place.
