Odyssey – AFS warning light flashing

Replace the AFS control unit with a countermeasure

Description of the defect

There is a defect in the drive mechanism of the headlamps’ direction changing system (AFS) according to the steering wheel angle and vehicle speed, which prevents the headlamps from returning to the straight-ahead state. As a result, the control circuit detects an abnormality and the fail-safe function is activated, slightly reducing the low beam distribution of the headlamps and causing the AFS warning light to flash.
However, even with the fail-safe function, the performance of the headlamps remains within the scope of the safety standards.
(AFS: Adaptive Front Lighting System)

Improvement details

Replace the AFS control unit with a countermeasure and replace the headlamp low beam drive gearbox or the headlight set with a countermeasure.
