Description of Defect
Odyssey – D light flashing
Due to improper machining of the tapered bearing that holds the differential gear unit of some automatic transmissions, the bearing may wear and rattle during use.
If the vehicle continues to be used as is, transmission oil may leak from the oil seal, the oil may decrease, the clutch may slip, and in the worst case, the fail-safe function may be activated, causing the transmission warning light (D lamp) to flash and locking the gearshift while driving.
Improvement Details
If the automatic transmission is inspected and the D-lamp flashes, the transmission will be replaced with a new one.
For vehicles for which the automatic transmission cannot be supplied in time, the transmission oil and oil seals will be replaced with new ones as a temporary measure, and the automatic transmission will be replaced with a good one at a later date.
