Replaced with countermeasure components. Programme updated to improved specifications
Description of defect
1) Due to insufficient wear resistance inside the prime mover’s throttle position sensor (TPS), if contact resistance increases due to wear, a fail-safe may be triggered, limiting the rotation of the prime mover and causing the vehicle to slow down. Also, the rotation of the prime mover may become unstable during idle operation.
(2) Due to an improperly programmed part of the control computer (engine ECU) of the prime mover, if the prime mover is loaded by an air conditioner or other load during idle operation, the rotation of the prime mover may temporarily drop, causing the idle to become unstable, and in rare cases, the prime mover may stop. Also, due to a part of the air-fuel ratio control program that is inappropriate, the rotation of the prime mover may temporarily drop during starting.
Improvement details
(1) TPSs will be inspected and those with abnormalities will be replaced with countermeasures.
(2) Update the engine ECU program to the improved specifications.
