Recommended Repairs with This Type 4 Kit
- Includes new internal seals, O-rings, rack boots (L/R), and a spare end cover assembly
(If rack boots are not required, Repair Kit Type 2 is also available) - Allows cleaning and inspection of internal components during disassembly
- Restores internal seals to maintain steering performance and reduce leaks, noise, and heavy steering
Why Type 4 Includes a Spare Cylinder End Cover Assembly
- When removing the cylinder end cover assembly, it is necessary to drill out the staked portion at the end of the gear housing using a 3.0 mm drill bit.
If the staking is not completely removed, the threads of the cylinder end cover may be damaged during removal.
For this reason, a spare cylinder end cover assembly is included in Repair Kit Type 2 and Repair Kit Type 4.
If a spare is not needed, please select Repair Kit Type 1 or Repair Kit Type 3 when placing your order.

Important Notice
- Some internal rack components are discontinued. If internal wear or damage is found, this repair kit cannot address those issues.
- In particular, the rear housing bearing seal is not available as an individual service part.
If the bearing or seal is damaged, replacement of the rear housing assembly is required, however this assembly has been discontinued.
