At Auto Parts Box Japan, we take great care in our packaging to ensure that our international customers receive their parts safely and in excellent condition.
Depending on the size and shape of the item, we use protective materials such as bubble wrap, “Fragile” tape, polypropylene strapping, and “This Side Up” labels to help prevent damage during transit. To protect against rain and prevent water from soaking through the cardboard and reaching the parts inside, we may wrap items in plastic. In addition, we often use sturdy double wall cardboard boxes to enhance strength and durability.
This type of double wall cardboard features a dual-layer corrugated structure. It is one of the more robust types of cardboard available and is particularly well-suited for international shipping and heavy items.
Why Double Wall Cardboard Uses Two Different Flute Shapes
Double wall cardboard is made by combining two layers of corrugated material, each with a different flute shape.
The first layer features larger, more widely spaced flutes that provide excellent cushioning and shock absorption. The second layer uses finer, more closely spaced flutes, which offer greater strength while helping to maintain some flexibility.
By combining these two types of flutes, the cardboard achieves both impact resistance and structural stability, making it ideal for use in outer packaging.
If both layers used the same flute type, the material could become overly stiff or rigid. Using different flute profiles allows for a well-balanced combination of strength and flexibility.

Please Note Regarding International Shipping Packaging
- Some shipping carriers do not allow the use of plastic wrapping on the outer packaging, so not all parcels can be covered with rain-protective plastic.
Some shipping carriers, such as EMS and UGX, do not allow the use of plastic wrapping on the outer packaging. During customs inspections, the plastic covering may be removed and discarded as part of the process. As the shipping label is often attached to this outer plastic wrapping, there is a risk that the label may be lost—potentially resulting in the parcel going missing.
For this reason, we may not be able to apply waterproof plastic wrapping to all shipments. We kindly ask for your understanding.
Please rest assured that we take great care in packaging every item to ensure it arrives safely.
- Polypropylene strapping may be cut and discarded during customs inspections.
- After inspection, parcels may not be returned to their original condition and may arrive with simplified or partial repackaging.
Please also be aware that we select the most appropriate packaging method for each item individually, so not all parts will be packaged in the same way.
We kindly ask for your understanding of these circumstances. At Auto Parts Box Japan, we do our best to package all items carefully to ensure that you receive them as safely and securely as possible.
